วันที่ 13 ม.ค.2555 เว็บไซต์สถานเอกอัครราชทูตสหรัฐอเมริกา ประจำกรุงเทพฯ แจ้งเตือนพลเมืองอเมริกัน ว่า ขอให้ใช้ความระมัดระวังสูงสุด และหลีกเลี่ยงการเดินทางไปยังจุดที่นักท่องเที่ยวตะวันตกนิยมไปรวมตัวกันในกรุงเทพฯ หลังจากมีรายงานว่า กลุ่มก่อการร้ายต่างชาติมีแผนลงมือก่อวินาศกรรมโจมตีจุดท่องเที่ยวต่างๆ ในกทม. ในอนาคตอันใกล้นี้ จึงขอให้พลเมืองอเมริกันใช้ความระมัดระวังเวลาอยู่ในสถานที่สาธารณะต่างๆ ในกรุงเทพฯ เมื่อพบเห็นบุคคลต้องสงสัย หรือวัตถุต้องสงสัย อาทิ กระเป๋า พัสดุ ฯลฯ ที่ดูผิดสังเกต ให้รีบแจ้งเจ้าหน้าที่ที่อยู่ใกล้ที่สุดทันที0 k( P0 a; {" k4 F" ~7 o- }, _

This message alerts U.S. citizens in Thailand that foreign terrorists may be currently looking to conduct attacks against tourist areas in Bangkok in the near future. U.S. citizens are urged to exercise caution when visiting public areas where large groups of Western tourists gather in Bangkok.

" R- i- I$ X c5 CU.S. citizens are encouraged to maintain a heightened awareness when out in public; be alert for unattended packages/bags in public/crowded places and report any suspicious behavior to the nearest law enforcement personnel. We also encourage you to keep a low profile in public areas, particularly areas frequented by foreign tourists.
